H.E. Deeq Abdiaziz Jidaal, Minister of Internal Security of the Republic of Djibouti, was born on 19 February 2002 in Buuhoodle, Togdheer region. He completed his primary and secondary education in Somaliland, studying in Lascanood and Mogadishu. He later pursued higher education abroad, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Security and Strategic Studies from the Faculty of Security Studies at Eldoret University in Kenya, followed by a Master’s degree in Security and Strategic Studies from the Faculty of Political Science and Security at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Minister Deeq Abdiaziz Jidaal holds four different citizenships and has gained extensive professional experience through his work with key national institutions, including the Police, Immigration, and Intelligence agencies, giving him deep practical knowledge of law enforcement and national security systems. He holds passports from Somaliland, the Netherlands, Kenya, and Switzerland, reflecting his international exposure and engagement. In 2024, H.E. Deeq Abdiaziz Jidaal was appointed as Minister of Internal Security of the Republic of Djibouti, where he continues to lead efforts focused on strengthening internal security, improving public safety, enhancing institutional coordination, and advancing strategic governance through a combination of academic expertise and hands-on operational experience.
