The Ministry of Internal Security of the Republic of Djibouti today issued an official statement regarding recent security developments in the Saylac region, following a resurgence of local clashes. Hon. Fagende Abdi Fagende, Director General of the Ministry, confirmed that security forces have been deployed to stabilize the area and prevent further escalation.
According to the Ministry, the situation has been carefully monitored, and rapid response teams have been dispatched to protect civilians and secure critical infrastructure. Hon. Fagende Abdi Fagende emphasized that maintaining public safety and preventing the spread of violence remain the Ministry’s top priorities. The Director General also urged local communities to remain calm and cooperate with security authorities.
The press release outlined that the Ministry is coordinating closely with regional and local authorities to assess the root causes of the unrest and implement measures for long-term peace and stability. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to upholding law and order and ensuring that residents of Saylac and surrounding areas can live safely and securely.
Hon. Fagende Abdi Fagende concluded by urging all parties to engage in dialogue and avoid actions that could exacerbate tensions, emphasizing that the Government of Djibouti is fully committed to restoring stability and protecting the wellbeing of its citizens.
