Hon. Fagende Abdi Fagende, Director General of the Ministry of Internal Security of the Republic of Djibouti, has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, leading a high-level delegation from the Ministry. The delegation is in Ethiopia to participate in a regional security summit for Horn of Africa leaders, focusing on security cooperation, intelligence sharing, and strengthening collaboration between the security institutions of neighboring countries.
The delegation received an official welcome from senior officials of Ethiopia’s security sector. During the summit, discussions are expected to address key regional security challenges, evolving threats, and measures to enhance intelligence and strategic coordination across Horn of Africa nations.
Hon. Fagende Abdi Fagende emphasized that this visit reflects Djibouti’s active role in promoting regional stability and underlines the importance of strategic cooperation in addressing shared security concerns. He highlighted that collaborative security efforts are essential for achieving lasting peace, relying on mutual trust, experience sharing, and practical engagement between security institutions.
The delegation led by Hon. Fagende Abdi Fagende includes senior officials and experts from various departments of the Ministry of Internal Security, who will actively participate in summit discussions, training sessions, and strategic planning exercises. The Director General is also expected to meet with regional security heads to further strengthen partnerships and cooperation on security matters.
The Horn of Africa security summit provides a platform for participating countries to review regional security dynamics, share expertise, and develop actionable plans to improve security and resilience. Hon. Fagende Abdi Fagende reaffirmed that the Republic of Djibouti remains committed to actively contributing to joint regional efforts aimed at fostering peace, security, and sustainable stability, in accordance with international security frameworks and best practices.
